Several issues are raised in the media recently that doctors have begun to work in the neighboring country after receiving a warning or other action by health authorities at home.
Board of Health has reviewed the regulations. Under current practice, notified authorities of other countries only when doctors and other health workers’ authority is limited or withdrawn.
Now the Board of Health agreed with the supervisory authorities in Denmark and Sweden that also will exchange information on less severe forms of reaction, such as warnings in supervisory matters.
- This will be information about the type of reaction (for example, warning) and who have received this, said Board of Health.
The issue of land shall notify each other when given warnings discussed regularly at European and international level. So far, it has been difficult to arrive at joint arrangements. The reason is that there are major differences in terms of both eve isk to give warnings and how different countries practice such things.
The Norwegian government recently announced that they will ask the EU to create an international register of doctors who have done wrong in the service.
It is the employer who has the responsibility to investigate the authorization and other information about the applicant when they hire workers.
